Homemade Houmous

Houmous is extremely nutritious and very easy to make. Each ingredient have a number of beneficial properties and when blended together as one, their combined nutrients, including protein and fibre, which supports blood sugar balance, and gut flora balance which is critical for a healthy immune system, make a healthy and most versatile accompaniment to any meal.

Use the following recipe as a guide, play around with it and use your intuition and unique tastes/preferences:

260g Chickpeas; soaked overnight, cooked and drained or 1x tin of cooked chickpeas
2 tbsp Tahini
4 tbsp of Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1x handful of Fresh herbs of choice, finely chopped. E.g. basil, lemon balm, e.t.c. (optional)
2 cloves of Garlic
Juice of 1 ½ small Lemon
2 tbsp water (filtered, reverse osmosis or distilled)
½ tsp of Himalayan Sea Salt
Pinch of Cayenne Pepper

Place everything into a blender & blitz.

Result: fresh creamy houmous, ready to Fulljoy 💕
